VENUE

This is information for venues who are looking to run a regular Weekly Quiz. If you're a venue interested in a one-off event, please get in contact here.

What is the format of the quiz?

The quiz is 5 rounds, with 10 questions per round.

Total runtime of the quiz is 1hr and 45mins - 2hrs.

What rounds are there?

We keep the rounds as straightforward as possible: there’s always an entertainment round, always a music round and always a general knowledge round.

Then outside of those we rotate between geography, science and nature, sports and games, art and literature, history and legends, food and drink and the odd current events and cryptic round as well.

How do teams take part?

Teams book a table via your reservation system. Teams who haven't booked ahead are also more than welcome to take part.

The host will explain how the quiz works to the teams over the mic.

The teams will scan a QR code, which will either be handed out (by the venue or the host) or from the host’s phone.

The QR Code will take teams to a Google Form, in which they submit their answers for the quiz.

If available prior to the first quiz we'll provide you with QR Codes printed onto tearproof card, the same style as some menus (200mmx200mm);

the cards can be cleaned and reused every quiz

Can teams join after the first round?

Sure thing!

Teams can do one round. They can do the entire quiz. They can turn up late and still enjoy it.

We want the quiz to be as accessible as possible to everyone so if teams can’t stay for the whole thing that week, not a problem; our hosts make a point of encouraging all teams to book back in for the following weeks quiz.

In regards to accessibility, we also encourage all of our venues to create a page on Euan's Guide.

How do the prizes work?

Prizes are down to the venue, however we're happy to recommend options such as vouchers for 1st and 2nd and food based prizes for the best team names, and talk you through the kind of amounts that we've seen work well in similar venues previously.

What happens after the quiz?

Once the quiz is completed we can highlight the winning team for you to give the prize.

QR Code cards are then collected back by the bar, cleaned and stored away for the following quiz.

The host will endeavour to take photos of he winning teams, and we encourage our venues to do the same to share through on social media channels.

What about advertising the quiz?

We will send through some basic materials you can use to promote the quiz. If you're looking for something more specific, talk to us and we'll see what we're able to help with.

All advertising is the responsibility of the venue themselves, however we are more than happy to promote our venues on social media and will share through posts and stories we are tagged in @goosesquizzes.

We can talk your team through good strategies for promoting the quizzes and suggest routes that have worked for similar venues in the past if needed.
